Sphere8 Sustainable Resin Vs Traditional Resin

Resin flooring has changed dramatically over the last few decades. What began as a highly industrial, chemical‑heavy material has now become one of the most design‑led, sustainable surface options available. At Sphere8, we’ve spent years moving resin away from its harsh, petrochemical past and into a new era of plant‑based, hand‑crafted, environmentally conscious design.

In the past, resin floors were built around aggressive petrochemical formulas. High VOCs, strong odours, solvents, BPA, and irritant hardeners were simply part of the process. Installations required heavy protective equipment, long ventilation periods, and the results were far from suitable for modern homes or wellness‑focused spaces.

We’ve taken that legacy and completely reimagined it. Sphere8 systems use plant‑based biopolymers, natural fillers, and low‑VOC ingredients to create seamless surfaces that are healthier, more sustainable, and far more beautiful. Our floors are hand‑applied, warm underfoot, compatible with underfloor heating, and crafted with the design flexibility architects expect today.

By replacing petrochemical content with renewable materials, we’ve created resin finishes that feel soft, tactile, and contemporary, without the environmental impact of traditional systems.

This is resin redesigned for modern living: sustainable, elegant, and made to enhance the spaces people actually live and breathe in.
