Nordic Design House & Clerkenwell Design Week

Nordic Design House has a brand new showroom in Clerkenwell, London, stocking TreCe and Glimakra of Sweden office interior furniture. Their minimalist Scandinavian styles were the perfect match for Sphere8 resin floors. In the heart of Clerkenwell, the showroom is perfectly located for Clerkenwell Design Week.

Nordic Design House came to Sphere8 looking for polished concrete style floors to perfectly match the style of their furniture. Choosing a minimalist, yet visually interesting, floor was the perfect way to style this showroom. Sphere8 joined Nordic Design house as a collaborative partner in the showroom.

As this showroom will have a high footfall and furniture moving throughout, a system that is durable and hard-wearing was essential. Our ToughSphere system was the best choice for the space. With our DiamondSphere Grip seal coat, the floor has a great anti-slip resistance making it safe and strong for spaces in constant use. Choosing a floor that was practical for the space didn’t mean that any aesthetical consideration needed to be compromised.

The perfect colour for this space was always going to be something natural and minimalist. The space called for something that was going to compliment the furniture rather than distract from it. A medium motion finish was chosen for this space to mimic the natural movement of polished concrete without being too obvious in the floor. Choosing a colour that is similar to polished concrete, while keeping the space looking bright, was important to Nordic Design House. The colour Platinum Grey was chosen because of its light grey tones that are similar to the desired look. The colour perfectly pairs with the space and creates a minimalist but impactful effect.

As the showroom is located in Clerkenwell, Nordic Design house will be involved in Clerkenwell Design Week, a design festival aimed at displaying the wide range of designers and showrooms in the area, famous for its creative industries. As a partner showroom, Sphere8 have been invited to join Nordic Design House during their Clerkenwell Design Week showcase.
