Sphere8 Made Silver Winner for Sustainability in the SME Surrey Business Awards

Our BrecciaSphere Lite product has been recognised for its environmentally friendly properties. We always use resin derived from castor beans, rather than petrochemicals, and so is inherently sustainable. We aim to replicate polished concrete with this system, and we use recycled shredded single use plastic to create texture in the floor. Concrete is one of the most energy intensive materials in the world, so finding more sustainable alternatives is something we were committed to creating.

Additionally, the longevity of our floors is much better than concrete as this can crack easily. Resin has slight flexibility which means that it can withstand movement better than concrete. Our durable material means that your floors will not have to be replaced as quickly as many other types of flooring types.

As we know flooring is something that people want to change along with their interior design tastes, we made sure that our products could change alongside this. There is an option to retop our floors with a different colour and look, meaning that a change of style doesn’t waste the original floor! By maintaining the main layers of the floor, and only changing the coloured layer and our seal coat, there is much less waste than there would be with other flooring replacements.
